IT is an open secret that the Government has cut the yearly allocations to all schools and all headmasters must make do with what they have.
I believe that when times are hard, we must all tighten our belts. But it is ridiculous not to switch on the fans in the classrooms with the soaring heat just to save electricity.
One school in Port Dickson recently organised a “Hari Kantin” to raise funds. Students were forced to contribute rice, eggs, sardine, sugar, tea and coffee to be sold on that day. They were also forced to buy coupons at RM10 a book. Not all students can afford to contribute.
It is not fair to force students to contribute as it should be done on a voluntary basis.
